    But nothing can stop you from indulging in some delicious food. Also, your self-quarantine days at home is a perfect time to bring out inner "Michelin chef" in all of us. You can start by cooking up the recipe of Cimol Isi Bakso (meat-stuffed fried sago) below.

    Cimol (round-shaped fried sago) is a savory munchie from West Java, and often sold by hawkers near schools. But since our access to outside is limited, cooking some street food is always a perfect idea.

    You might find the recipe below is more challenging than usual, but trust us, the yields are worth it!

    Duration: 60 minutes

    Yields: 76 balls

    Ingredients

    450 grams sago flour

    5 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    1 stalk of scallion, minced

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    3 garlic cloves

    225 ml water

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder

    1/2 chicken broth powder

    vegetable oil for deep-frying

    Filling ingredients:

    8 beef meatballs, diced

    1 tablespoon tomato sauce

    2 tablespoons chilli sauce

    1 stalk of scallion, minced


    Cooking Steps

    1. Put filing ingredients in small bowl and mix them until well-blend. Set aside. 

    2. Boil water in a pot and bring it to boil over medium flame for 4-5 minutes. Add half amount (225 grams) of sago flour to the pot. Stir well until boiled and combined. 

    3. Add scallion, garlic, salt, pepper powder, and chicken broth powder into the pot. Stir constantly until combined. 

    4. Add the excess sago flour in steady stream, blend using turner until emulsify. 

    5. Remove from the pot and let the sago dough chill in room temperature. 

    6. Take a spoonful amount of dough and put meatball filling in it. Roll with hands until it makes a ball shape. Repeat this step until the dough and filling (whichever comes first) runs out. 

    7. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium flame. Add stuffed cimol balls into it and stir constantly in between. Fry until turned golden brown.

    8. Serve cimol isi bakso (meat-stuffed fried sago) as snack.
