    Kitchenesia.com - Sate Lilit Ikan (Minced Fish Satay) is one of many variants of Indonesian satay. 

    Follow the recipe below to make a delicious-guaranteed sate lilit ikan in the simplest and easiest way possible. 

    Ingredients:

    250 grams spanish mackerel fillet, mashed

    100 grams grated coconut, toasted

    1/4 teaspoon tamarind

    1/2 teaspoon black peppercorn, coarsely ground

    1/2 teaspoon brown palm sugar, finely chopped

    2 tablespoons cooking oil

    12 lemongrasses for skewering.

    Spicy Paste Ingredients:

    2 large red chili peppers, deseeded

    2 green bird’s eye chili peppers, finely chopped

    3 cloves garlic

    6 cloves shallot

    1 cm turmeric, toasted

    1 cm ginger

    3 candlenuts, toasted

    1 teaspoon coriander seeds

    11/4 teaspoons salt

    1/4 teaspoon sugar

    Grind all paste ingredients with mortar and pestle. 

    Cooking Steps:

    1. Mix well all ingredients with spicy paste. 

    2. Take a little bit of the mixture. Stick it to the lemongrass skewers until it forms long and thick cylinder.

    3. Grill it over charcoal fire until well done.

    4. Sate Lilit Ikan (Spicy Fish Satay on Lemongrass) is ready to serve. (12 skewers)
