Kitchenesia.com - Five-star hotel JW Marriott Jakarta has recently appointed Martin Weise as the new Executive Chef. Known for haute cuisine, Chef Martin will lead the talented and skillful culinary team of JW Marriott Jakarta and add new twists and surprises to provide the finest in gastronomy for all guests.
Before venturing his new career in Jakarta, the Germany-origin chef has worked in many award-winning establishments to large banqueting events in several five-star hotels. His strong culinary career began at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park as the Acting Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
Following a move to Savoy Hotel London the Chef de Cuisine for Thames Foyer and banqueting, he also worked at The Westin Sydney and Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, continued by a cruise ship Sea Cloud II sailing across Mediterranean and Caribbean Sea and many more after those.
Bringing over his 15 years of culinary experience, Chef Martin will oversee JW Marriott’s entire kitchen and banquet operations including 5 food & beverages outlets as well as banqueting.

When media asked about his inspiration to his culinary innovation, Chef Martin humbly told us about his hobby in traveling that makes him never running out of ideas.
“Travelling throughout the world, creating exciting food through learning different cultures,different cooking methods, discovering new and exotic spices are what excite me”, said Martin Weise on press conference on Tuesday, October 8.
“For I believe that experiencing the world not only enriches your skills in whatever you do, but also gives you new colors to throw on the table, which in my case, quite literally”, adds Chef Martin.
