With all these full-package facilities for business traveler, does Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta still have a pulling power to attract staycation goers?
Kitchenesia.com - All right, this may sound a little bit dramatic. But let’s face it - city hotels are homogeneous. Some features such as an ergonomic workspace and an ideal location are obligatory for these hotels - but that’s that. Since many business travels are canceled due to the pandemic, city hotels should think beyond tech-savvy amenities or spacious parking lots in order to survive.
My visit was to have an enjoyable staycation. Funny really, because Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta is a textbook example of an ideal city hotel. Established by state-owned construction company PP, this three-star hotel seems to focus more on catering business needs.
I found it amusing that the PR staff guided me directly to the meeting room floor. As a staycation-goer, I could care less about meeting room. But her unwonted eagerness kept me listening.
Taking a Step Further
Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta provides ten function rooms of various sizes, accomodating tens to hundreds of business folks. I sat and listened as she flaunted, but the biggest meeting room drew my attention. No, it is not the giant-sized LED display that had me awed.

Surrounded by clear, enormous windows, this meeting room offers view of busy DI Panjaitan road. Sunshine beams by day, moonlight radiates by night. Stuffy meeting room with concrete walls around is a thing in the past. At least they should be. It is time for the hotel brands to provide a flowy vibe even in the most formal venue. And Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta has gone one step further for providing one.
Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta has done more than necessary to brand itself as a business hotel. Every room type has the word “business” in it: business superior, business suite, and so on.
Less is more
There aren’t loud decor or bright colors in my business suite room. It strongly carries out the hotel’s business theme with the element of an ergonomic working desk, a spacious living area, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Most importantly, power outlets are everywhere. Even if I were to bring all my electronic appliances that need charging with me, I still didn’t come close to use them up.
The king-sized bed deliver a perfect night’s sleep after a long day of tiring meetings. The en suite is equipped with full-package amenities such as a bathtub, rain shower, and full-package toiletries. Not only that, a big flat TV provides more-than-enough comfort that made me reluctant to leave the comfort my room.

With all these facilities, does Park Hotel Cawang-Jakarta have a pulling power to attract non-business traveller? The short answer is yes. On my visit day, the crowd showed the contrary: a mix of small families and some young couples.
Seems like convenient bedroom is a much-needed tonic for those who look for comfort in these troubling times.
