A Splendid Parade of Legendary Foods

With almost full occupancy, Pantjoran PIK collected several in-demand restaurants and food vendors. Some of them even have operated more than a hundred years. Among legendary and long-running restaurants are Wong Fu Kie, Kopi Es Tak Kie, Kari Lam, Ponggol Nasi Lemak, dan Es Pluit Acen. Its iconic entrance and pleasant ambience make Pantjoran PIK a perfect spot for a casual gathering.

First, Kopi Es Tak Kie started as a modest coffee stall in Petak Sembilan, West Jakarta. Currently, it is being run by the third generation of the family. Still, the recipes are as authentic as its initial years in 1927. Another long-running tenant is Kari Lam, selling a high-quality curry since 1973. Lastly, Wong Fu Kie, the oldest restaurant in Jakarta has been serving the tastiest Hakka foods since 1925.

Culinary expert Tirta Lie gives full marks to these three food tenants. To experience the richness of Es Kopi Tak Kie’s iced coffee, Tirta Lie says “all you need to do is sit well and enjoy the taste.” He also appreciates Kari Lam’s curry for its authenticity and delicious tastes. Lastly, Tirta Lie describes Wong Fu Kie in three words, “unique, delicious, and respect.”
