    Rujak Petis - Rujak Petis (Vegetables and Fruit with Black Shrimp Sambal) can be an alternative for you who do not like Rujak Cingur, the more popular version of this dish that has beef nose in it.


    50 grams ambarella,cut into bite-sized pieces
    125 grams water spinach,cut into bite-sized pieces, boiled
    75 grams mung bean sprouts
    5 cabbage leaves, boiled, coarsely chopped
    4 yardlong beans, cut into 3 cm sticks, boiled
    60 grams cucumber,halved lengthwise, deseeded, sliced into ½ cm pieces
    100 grams tofu,fried, cubed
    75 grams pineapple,cut into bite-sized pieces
    fried emping (paddy oat chips)
    100 ml lukewarm water

    ground spices blend:
    1 red chili pepper
    3 bird’s eye chili peppers
    ½ teaspoon toasted shrimp paste
    4 teaspoons brown palm sugar
    ¾ teaspoon salt
    25 grams tamarind
    5 cm sand ginger
    2 cloves garlic
    50 grams fried peanuts
    1 tablespoon petis(black shrimp paste)

    Cooking Steps

    1. Mix ground spices blend with lukewarm water into smooth paste.
    2. Put vegetables and fruits on a plate. Drench it with sauce. Mix them well.
    3. Rujak Petis (Vegetables and Fruit with Black Shrimp Sambal) is ready to serve with fried emping.
