Deciding a fulfilling sohoor food seems to be a challenging task, especially for people who undertake special diet like vegetarian. Sohoor dish should pack with nutrients like protein and carbohydrate to make body stay strong for a half of day onwards.
Kitchenesia created a recipe that caters vegetarian needs in sohoor dish, and we came up with Tumis Buncis Tahu (sautéed green bean and tofu). It consists of nutrient-packed vegetables such as green bean and tofu. And the good news is, the recipe can be whipped up in 30 minutes only.
Prep time: 30 minutes
Yields: 5 servings
300 grams green bean, chopped into 2cm length
2 carrots, chopped into 1 cm thickness
1 white tofu block, cut into 2cm cubes
4 shallots, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 curly red chilli, cut on the bias
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
50 ml water
1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
1 tbsp cooking oil
1. Heat oil over medium flame in wok. Add shallot, garlic, and red chilli, stir until fragrant. Add green bean, carrot, and white tofu to the wok, stir well until combined.
2. Pour water in steady stream. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and white pepper. Cook well until the vegetables wilted and blended.
3. Serve Tumis Buncis Tahu (sauteed green bean and tofu) alongside steamed rice as sohoor dish.
