Former actor Andrew White took some time out last week to talk with Kitchenesia about his life as a father, an entrepreneur, and an influencer.

Actor Andrew White is neither a chef nor is a culinary entrepreneur. But with his interactive communication with more than 600K folowers on instagram, surely he has something for people look him up to.

The 33-year-old former actor has retired from show biz for quite a long time; his last TV appearance was in 2006. Notwithstanding his retirement, Andrew remains in spotlight for one practical reason: he and his actress wife Nana Mirdad perenially shares positive influence through their respective instagram accounts.

That is the reason why people love to follow them; why healthcare products love to hire them as Brand Ambassador; and that's what makes Kitchenesia team love them as well.

Just because Andrew no longer acts, it doesn't mean his life is more strained. Unbeknownst to public, he founded his own business as a pool contractor. But still, he never forgets to live to the fullest: living healthily and influencing people to do the same thing.

Kitchenesia team met Andrew White on Thursday, November 21 at Olivoila Press Conference taking place at Lucy In The Sky Cafe, SCBD. He spilled easy tips to enjoy a fulfilling live in the simplest way, even in todays' era where hate comments are rampant.

As a busy person, how do you cope with sleep deprivation and stress?

I believe everyone has experienced lack of sleep, especially adults. And currently, I become more sleep-deprived than before because I commute back-and-forth Bali and Jakarta for businesses.

I always keep myself hydrated when I am sleep-deprived, like I would drink tons of mineral water every ten minutes. It is because we tend to look dull when sleep less, at least water would help my appearance looks fresher. I am actually a habitual nap-taker. But when I sleep less last night, I would take a nap more frequent than usual, at least for ten minutes.

My healthy lifestyle has made me to feel stress less, but it happens sometimes. To cope this, I walk on daily basis for 20 minutes. I often walk outdoor, but if the heat is unbearable, I prefer to walk on treadmill. Quality time with family is also important for reducing stress. It is the very right time to share problems and ask for advice from them.

Just a couple days ago, Nana Mirdad shared a recipe of "vegan meatballs". Are you going vegan now?

To be honest, I and Nana have tried to eat fully vegan before, but we stopped in the middle as we realized veganism is not that healthy. There are some nutrients that can be obtained from meat only. My family eating habit is more fish-based and plant-based, or pescetarian.

People might think my family doesn't eat fried food and everything is organic. But that's not true. My family also eats rice and red meat sometimes, but we keep portion size in check, and self-cook our own food.

What is the most significant difference between living in Jakarta and Bali? Are you planning to move to the capital city?

The stark difference is activities after dark. Jakartans can work from morning to night, then go to cafes and bars for after-work activities with officemates. They literally go home for sleep only.

Balinese workers go straight to their home after working; and they prefer to eat at home.

Adapting Balinese work culture, I make sure my employees don't work overtime. Everyone should finish their works by 6PM. Overtime is done when there is an urgent job that takes longer time to solve.

As a public figure, you definitely have been experiencing malicious comments online. How do you deal with them?

Just exactly a night before I departed to Jakarta, Nana asked my opinion about closing all of our social media, and living completely without them.

To be honest, I don't care about hate comments, but Nana's case is different. She is quite sensitive to what people think about her and our family.

But at the same time, instead of running away from social accounts, I think we need to embrace them. There are many positive things on social media. Just focus on happy moments and ignore hate comments.
