    Ingredients

    350 grams silverside beef,cut into rectangle chunks
    2 small buncheslemon basil leaf
    3 salam (indonesian bay)leaves
    3 large green chili peppers,cut into 1 cm pieces
    3 large red chili peppers,cut into 1 cm pieces
    ½ tablespoon salt
    ½ teaspoon sugar
    ¼ teaspoon white pepper powder
    750 ml water
    1 scallion, cut into 1 cm pieces
    2 tablespoons cooking oilfor sautéing

    ground spices blend:
    7 cloves shallots
    3 cloves garlic
    3 curly red chili peppers
    1 teaspoon coriander seeds
    2 cm ginger
    2 cm galangal
    ½ teaspoon terasi(shrimp paste)

    Cooking Steps

    1. Saute ground spices blend and salam leaves until fragrant
    2. Add chili pepper. Stir it until softened.
    3. Add in beef. Stir it until it changes colour.
    4. Add salt, sugar, and white pepper powder. Stir it well.
    5. Pour in water. Cook it until the beef is well done and the sauce is infused and blended well with the beef.
    6. Slightly before removing it from heat, add in lemon basil leaves. Stir well. Remove it from heat.
    7. Beef in Lemon Basil Sauce is ready to serve.
