200 grams ground beef
1 egg
100 ml coconut milkfrom ½ coconut
10 red bird’s eye chili peppers
banana leaves for wrapping
5 salam (indonesian bay)leaves
ground spices blend:
5 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
¼ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon white peppercorn
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon brown sugar
1. Mix ground beef, egg, and ground spices blend. Pour in coconut milk. Mix well.
2. Add red bird’s eye chili pepper. Mix well.
3. Take banana leaf. Put 1 salam leaf on top of it. Spoon in the mixture. Fold it into closed box. Secure the top with a toothpick.
4. Steam it for 20 minutes until done. Remove from heat.
5. Gadon Daging (Javanese Steamed Beef) is ready to serve.
