Magelangnese Fried Rice

Carbs on carbs? sometimes guilty pleasure can make our tummy really happy. just try our magelangan fried rice recipe, a traditional dish from central java that combines rice and noodles with tasty spices blend. different sensation is guaranteed.

Magelangnese Nasi Goreng

Ingredients

400 grams white rice
1/2 chicken
500 ml water
100 grams dried egg noodles,boiled
2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
2 scallion, finely sliced
2 tablespoons cooking oilfor sautéing
1 teaspoon chicken oil

ground spices blend:
5 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
3 candlenuts, toasted

toppings:
1 tomato, sliced
1 tablespoon crispy shallot

Cooking Steps

  1. Bring water to boil. Add chicken and boil it until well done. Remove from heat.
  2. Remove chicken from its broth. Shred the meat and set it aside. Reduce the broth to 50 ml. Set aside.
  3. Heat cooking oil on the pan. Sauté ground spices blend until fragrant.
  4. Add chicken. Stir it well. 
  5. Add sweet soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Pour in chicken broth. Cook it until the liquid is absorbed to the chicken.
  7. Add rice and noodles. Stir it until well-cooked.
  8. Add scallion. Stir well. Remove from heat. Serve Magelangan fried rice with its toppings.
