Nasi goreng gila or crazy fried rice with mixed toppings is a popular street food in indonesia. there is no soy sauce added to the rice when cooked but the toppings are cooked with the addition of tasty spices blend.

Crazy Fried Rice with Stir-Fried Mixed Toppings

Ingredients

800 grams cold white rice
2 cloves garlic,coarsely chopped
2 eggs
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
1 tablespoon cooking oil

stir-fried topping ingredients:
2 pairs chicken gizzard and liver,boiled, drained, diced
100 grams chicken breast fillet,boiled, drained, fried, shredded
4 pieces beef meatballs,sliced
250 grams cabbage,coarsely sliced
150 grams choy sum,cut into pieces
2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
1 scallion, finely sliced
100 ml water
2 tablespoons cooking oil

ground spices blend:
5 cloves shallot,fried
3 cloves garlic,fried
3 curly red chili peppers, fried

Cooking Steps

  1. Rice: heat cooking oil on the pan. Sauté garlic until fragrant. Set aside on the edge of the pan. Add eggs. Stir it until granuled. Add white rice. Stir until the rice is blended well with other ingredients. Add salt and pepper. Stir well. Remove from heat. Set aside.
  2. Stir-fried toppings: heat cooking oil on the pan. Sauté ground spices blend until fragrant. Add in chicken gizzard, chicken liver, shredded chicken, and meatballs. Stir well. Add cabbage, choy sum, scallion, sweet soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, pepper, and chicken bouillon powder. Stir well. Pour in water. Cook it until the vegetables are softened and the sauce is absorbed into the ingredients. Remove from heat.
  3. Serve fried rice with the mixed toppings on top of it.
