Padangnese Grilled Beef

Ingredients

400 grams topside beef,sliced widely into flat pieces
2 turmeric leaves
2 lemongrasses, crushed
3 lime leaves
1 asam kandis
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
200 ml coconut milkfrom ½ coconut
2 tablespoons cooking oilfor sautéing

ground spices blend
7 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
½ tablespoon chili pepper powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
½ teaspoon white pepper powder
3 cm turmeric,toasted
2 cm ginger

Cooking Steps

  1. Heat cooking oil on the pan. Saute ground spices blend, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, and lime leaves until fragrant.
  2. Add in asam kandis, sweet soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Stir well. Pour in coconut milk. Stir it until thick and well done. Remove it from heat.
  3. Marinate beef in stir-fried spices blend. Let it set in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  4. Grill beef until done and browned. Glaze it with marinade sauce while grilling it. Remove it from heat.
  5. Padangnese Grilled Beef is ready to serve.
