Padangnese Grilled Beef
Ingredients
400 grams topside beef,sliced widely into flat pieces
2 turmeric leaves
2 lemongrasses, crushed
3 lime leaves
1 asam kandis
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
200 ml coconut milkfrom ½ coconut
2 tablespoons cooking oilfor sautéing
ground spices blend
7 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
½ tablespoon chili pepper powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
½ teaspoon white pepper powder
3 cm turmeric,toasted
2 cm ginger
Cooking Steps
- Heat cooking oil on the pan. Saute ground spices blend, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, and lime leaves until fragrant.
- Add in asam kandis, sweet soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Stir well. Pour in coconut milk. Stir it until thick and well done. Remove it from heat.
- Marinate beef in stir-fried spices blend. Let it set in refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Grill beef until done and browned. Glaze it with marinade sauce while grilling it. Remove it from heat.
- Padangnese Grilled Beef is ready to serve.
