Glazed Beef
Ingredients
400 grams beef shank,sliced wide and thin with 1 cm thickness
2 salam (indonesian bay)leaves
2 lemongrass (white part only),crushed
2 cm ginger,crushed
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon white pepper powder
½ teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
750 ml coconut milkfrom ½ coconut
2 tablespoons cooking oilfor sautéing
ground spices blend:
7 cloves shallot
3 cloves garlic
3 candlenuts, toasted
3 curly red chili peppers
Cooking Steps
1. Heat cooking oil on the pan. Saute ground spices blend, salam leaves, lemongrass, and ginger until fragrant.
2. Add in beef. Stir until it changes color. Add salt, pepper, sugar, and sweet soy sauce. Stir well.
3. Pour in coconut milk gradually. Cook until the sauce is reduced and absorbed into the beef. Remove it from heat.
