Sarikayo Gula Merah (Brown Sugar Coconut Custard)
Ingredients
4 eggs
¼ teaspoon salt
400 ml coconut milkfrom ½ coconut
200 grams brown palm sugar,finely chopped
30 grams all-purpose flour
15 grams corn starch
Cooking Steps
1. Beat egg and salt loosely. Set it aside.
2. Boil 100 ml coconut milk along with brown sugar. Keep stirring it just until the sugar is dissolved in the coconut milk. Strain it.
3. Pour the remaining coconut milk and boiled coconut milk with sugar into the mixture of all-purpose flour and corn starch gradually. Keep stirring it until all ingredients are dissolved. Pour it into the egg mixture. Stir it slowly into smooth mixture.
4. Pour the mixture into small heat-resistant dishes polished with margarine.
5. Steam it over low heat for 35 minutes until firmed and well-cooked.
6. Sarikayo Gula Merah (Brown Sugar Coconut Custard) is ready to serve.
