Indonesian Bistik (Beef Steak)
500 grams tenderloin beef
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon white pepper powder
½ teaspoon nutmeg powder
sauce ingredients:
½ onion, sliced lengthwise
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
½ tablespoon sweet soy sauce
75 grams green beans
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon white pepper powder
500 ml water
2 tablespoons margarinefor sautéing
side dishes:
200 grams carrot,quartered lengthwise, cut into 4 cm stick, boiled
100 grams green beans,cut into 4 cm sticks
100 grams french fries,fried
1. Marinate beef in the mixture of Worcestershire sauce, white pepper powder, and nutmeg powder. Let it set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Sauce: heat margarine on the pan. Saute onion until fragrant. Add Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, sweet soy sauce, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir well.
3. Add in beef. Stir well. Pour in water gradually. Cook until it is half done. Remove beef from sauce. Cut widely against the grain into 1 ½ cm thick pieces.
4. Put beef back to the sauce. Boil it and pour the rest of the water into it. Cook until well done. Add green beans. Stir well. Remove from heat.
