    These properties in downtown Bandung become magnet from people to come and stay for a night or two.

    From motel to mega-sized hotel, lodging establishments in the city are fully booked nearly every weekend.

    Hotels jam-pack the streets of Bandung, most target budgeted travelers.

    However there are a few world-class hotels , and Hilton Hotel Bandung is one of them.

    The hotel towers in the busy intersection of HOS Cokroaminoto, Padjajaran, and Cicendo streets. 

    Hilton Bandung boasts strategic position: 10-minute distance from Bandung’s main airport, 5 minute from Bandung Station, and 4-hours driving from Jakarta.

    This property marks the entry of Hilton’s flagship brand into Indonesia, and the second chain located in the country.

    Designed by award-winning architect Warner Wong Design, Hilton Bandung reflects the city’s topography surrounded by natural landforms.

    The lobby represents Bandung: cliff, river, and valley.

    The lobby wall is designed into carved structure that represents river stream and batik pattern.

    Queen Hilton Deluxe, the regular class in Hilton Bandung, furnishes with two separated queenbed.

    The bedroom assures maximum comfort for business traveler, with large workdesk, ergonomic chair, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

    The middle room class, King Hilton Deluxe, is a superb place to unwind with its larger-than-average king bed. Afterall, these two room types share similar amenities, the only thing that differs them is bed size. 

    With that, of course, sleep experience.

    The finest bedroom comes with first-rate convenience that can’t be found in other room types.

    King Premium is high-floor, spacious room perfect for family.

    It features 52 square-metre room with massive kingbed, and a sitting area whose views stretched of the entire city.

    The food is a must try

    Hilton Bandung's “Sop Buntut” (i.e Oxtail Soup) is enough to make you go back there and again.

    This popular food focuses on assortment of vegetables: potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, leek, celery, fried shallots and dried black mushrooms, and rich with slices oxtail meats.

    It looks basic – but brilliantly done.

    The huge bowl looks as if it is ready to feed two gluttons.

    What’s key here is its nailed the prime ingredients: the stock and oxtail meat themselves.

    It is that virtous combination of succulent beef and  sweet-and-savory double stock, a wonder of culinary engineering.

    Each scoop of sop buntut holds its cargo perfectly without being heavy or deadening.

    The drink "Green Dream" uses various edible plants that seemingly impossible to blend together: lime extract, pineapple, and baby bok choy as a topping.

    In every sip, eclectic flavor of lime juice outwin the pineapple.

    The sourness is acceptable for everyone, thanks to the natural sugar that makes this bright-green drink more zesty.

    For your information, almost all of food served in Hilton Bandung utilize ingredients from Bandung’s farmers.

    While indulging myself in Hilton Bandung’s food, I also contribute in empowering local economy.

    One thing that I can't find anywhere, or I should say, any hotel.

    There are two built-in restaurants whose differences complement each other.

    There is Fresco, a bar-restaurant by swimming pool.

    The resort-vibe restaurant located on the rooftop of the building serves the likes of western food such as pizza and steaks.

    Its counterpart, Purnawarman Restaurant, highlights interactive concept with various choices of Asian delicacies.

    It is all-day restaurant that with indoor and outdoor seating.

    Every food and beverage served in Purnawarman restaurant follows a particular menu every month, so that my food might be not available in the future.

    And, when Kitchnesia was there, the theme of the month’s menu is chilli.

    For lunch, we tried 4 F&B: Breakfast Booster, Hotmix Chiliberries, Salmon Teriyaki, and Roasted Ribs.

    The signature beverages, breakfast booster and hotmix chiliberries, aren’t necessarily using chilli as their ingredients.

    Only the later used it, meanwhile the first embodies the theme by using beetroot to produce red color.

    They used various of fruits and mix them into one, such as orange, carrot, and beetroot for Breakfast Booster; and strawberry, chilli, and grenadine syrup for hotmix chiliberries.

    Both tasted fresh though, but our favorite was hotmix chiliberries.

    The innovation of using chilli in a beverage is enough to spice up your day.

    I order two maincourses, the best-seller in Purnawarman: Salmon Teriyaki and Roasted Ribs.

    Besides prioritizing the taste and presentation, Hilton Bandung shows their commitment to preserve environment by serving sustainably-certified Tasmanian salmon in their restaurants.

    This salmon was procured from a sustainably certified distributor for the quality of their salmon and the ingenuity of their operations.

    The Australia-imported salmon was grilled untill well-cooked, releasing aromatic fragrant and zero fishy smell. 

    The pickles and Japanese rice were tasty as well.

    Hilton Bandung’s roasted rib had juicy meat and sweet-to-sour flavor.

    It was served in a quite huge portion, so make sure you’re eating roasted rib with companion, or when you’re seriously hungry.
